Crypto prop firms: common questions

Do crypto prop firms let you trade at the weekend?

Not automatically, even though the market is open. Plenty of firms keep a weekend-holding rule inherited from their forex programme, and some close positions on Friday regardless of the instrument. If trading through the weekend is the reason you want a crypto account, confirm it in the firm's rules rather than assuming the market hours settle it.

Can I trade crypto at an ordinary forex prop firm?

Usually yes — most firms list crypto alongside forex, and the firms on this page are the ones that do. What varies is how much of it: a handful of majors versus a broad list of altcoins, and leverage that is typically far lower on crypto than on currency pairs.

How do crypto's moves interact with drawdown rules?

This is the part that ends most crypto evaluations. A daily drawdown limit written for currency pairs can be reached by a single ordinary move in crypto, so the position size that feels normal on EURUSD is often several times too large here. The limits are the same numbers; the instrument is not.

Do crypto prop firms pay out in crypto?

Some do, usually in stablecoins, and it is often the fastest option. It is a per-firm choice rather than a property of crypto accounts, so check the payout methods on the firm's profile — a crypto trading account paid out by bank transfer is perfectly common.
